Peace Day 2008

International Day of Peace 2008 is approaching!

On June 13 2008 - 100 days before September 21 - UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon sent a message to the world, asking all of us to start making plans for this year's Peace Day.

In his message, the Secretary-General said:
"We need to take this day of ceasefire and non-violence very seriously. We need to start planning for it now....On September 21, let us send a real signal of our universal desire for Peace."

In a few weeks, the dedicated website, www.internationaldayofpeace.org, will be re-launched, featuring an extensive events database, where Peacebuilders worldwide can post their event plans. We encourage you to keep an eye out for the upgraded site, and submit your event plans as soon as possible. More to come!
