Pathways To Peace Programs are Designed to Bring Peace into the
Lives of People, Communities, and to our World!
The Girls Shelter in Guinea: The Girls Shelter in Guinea is for young girls who have said “No” to Female Genital Mutilation and Child Marriage and are homeless as a result.
We are so moved by the bravery of these young girls! The Girls Shelter is a safe place for them to be, but also a place where they will receive care, education, and job training. A place where they can connect with other girls and become a part of a community. They are welcomed, and given the compassion, support, and resources they need and deserve to create positive futures for themselves.
Peace Education: We provide over 100 Peace customized presentations, workshops, and trainings annually – to adults, youth, and children. We design local, national, and international trainings, workshops, and train the trainer initiatives for schools, students, educators, organizations and communities. Our topics on Peacebuilding, conflict prevention and resolution, peace leadership, and a variety of topics relating to removing the barriers to peace. As with all our work, our approach is intergenerational, interfaith, and multicultural. While we believe everyone can benefit from Peace education, many of our trainings focus on preparing our next generation of Peacebuilders – our youth.
Nuclear Disarmament Research and Advocacy: The Nuclear Disarmament Advocacy & Research Program is founded and led by Program Coordinator, Rinor Jani, PTP Youth Representative at the UN. Our work focuses on advocating for the adoption of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW), developing new research, and shifting the discourse on nuclear disarmament in the Balkan region. We work alongside civil society, humanitarian organizations, municipalities, and national governments in the Balkan region for nuclear disarmament and global peace.
Exceptional Women of Peace Program: This is an annual international awards program for women of all ages. Each year, we give out an award for an Exceptional Women of Peace and an Exceptional Young Woman of Peace. Women have been the heart and hands of the movements for Peace throughout our history, and often go unrecognized for their critical role. As Project Lead Kimberly Weichel explains, “This award honors the inspiring work of women peacebuilders whose courage, leadership, and commitment to Peace stand out as beacons of strength and hope.” When we honor one, we honor all!
Wisdom Keepers, Bringing Peace to our World: This is an online wisdom repository featuring an ever-expanding list of videos featuring diverse elders who have made and continue to make their mark on Peace. As Project Coordinator, Naimisha Mehta shares, “Documenting the stories of people from different backgrounds who have gone down different paths in their extraordinary lives, but then somehow all diverge at the intersection of peace…that has been very inspiring and makes me hopeful of what is possible.”
Peace is the Only Gold: This a global peace education initiative is led by two-time Olympic Pentathlete Marilyn King. Marilyn reminds us that the Olympic Charter states that the purpose of the Olympic Games is… “to educate youth through sports to create a better and more peaceful world.” What better next step than to have Olympians worldwide inspiring young people to think like Olympians about their personal goals, their community, and a world at Peace? Peace is the Only Gold is a dynamic and sustainable program to put Peace into daily practice.
